I’ve been harvesting these beautiful Slippery Jacks on my property all summer. Believe me, these unmistakable edible mushrooms are as delicious as they are beautiful!
Over the summer I’ve collected at least 20 pounds of them, and, cool weather loving creatures that they are, they keep coming in! While we’ve been enjoying all sorts of wild mushroom sauces, casseroles and soups over the summer, I’ve also preserved some by pickling and lots by freezing.
I am willing to share my bounty with my SoupScription customers by making a small batch of Wild Mushroom-Barley Soup. However, knowing that some people are a bit apprehensive about these fruits of the woods, I need to know if anyone is interested.
